Now, as to the question--"Where are you gonna be?"--I have no idea. But I would like to share my thoughts on what this date symbolizes to humanity.
As we now see in humanity, there is an extreme shift taking place. This is the same shift which has taken our people through history from the namadic age of hunter gatherers to the agricultural based society from which sprung the development of tool-technologies. So, that's just to say that we are in, and have always been in a shift...as they say--"change is constant". So how does this date--October 12, 2012--have any importance to us here on Earth? Well, I believe that this will be the time when society (meaning the world) will come to a point where it is no longer sustainable to live within the paradigm of separation consciousness. The demands of the time will call for a shift into a new paradigm of cooperation and togetherness, the same as the tribal paradigm from which we came. So, it is the point when society will reach backwards into its history, having stretched itself as far as it can with individualism and separation, and rebuild itself based on the principles of togetherness and communal consciousness.
Now, one might argue that this ideaology doesn't hold water; that society, having progressed to the point of intense isolation from and at war with each other. And, yes it is true, there will be those who will resist the evolving pardigm of tribal consciousness. However, as we have seen in the study of the natural world within the last century, the law of 'survival of the fittest' shall still be at play. Those who choose the isolation of separation shall no longer be able to survive, due to planetay turmoil and socio-economic crisis. Yes, that's right--CRISIS!
This will be a time of much war and separation amongst the people on this planet earth. The good that will come from this planetary turmoil is that an emerging generation of communal beings shall rise up and prevail on this planet. I'm not talking about extra terrestrials, my friends...it's us! We are the one's we've been waiting for.
